Inspiration

I’ve been running as a means of conditioning or punishment for a long time. But after a nice, juicy breakup, I started going for longer and longer runs. I actually listened to fellow runners who told me to take it slow instead of sprint until my legs seized up. At first I felt paranoid that people would look at me and judge. But instead, I was able to look around me and soak up what discoveries were around me.

I made this photo series in collaboration with Lauren Jones to create imagery I sorely needed when I was in serious™ mode. This surrealist, playful photo series shows that there’s more to running than strava splits, PRs, and course records. We love those too… but they’re not the only thing that keeps us moving.
